Following the discovery that Krista was alive and well, drugged in the basement of a house Eden was squatting in, it is all change for a number of Erinsborough residents.
Under hospital care, diagnosed with pneumonia, Krista begins to piece together what has happened. She had no idea that people thought she was dead, Eden had been controlling her, Eden living the high life with the money he extorted from Paul, which Krista believed he had won at a casino. When the money ran out, things took a turn for the worse and Eden returned to his criminal lifestyle.
Reece is relieved that her baby sister has been found alive and rushes to the hospital to see her. At first, Krista refuses to let her in, fearing being judged for the decisions she made that resulted in her present situation. With some gentle persuasion from Holly, Krista eventually allows Reece to visit and the sisters begin to repair their fractured relationship. Reece returns Krista’s lost necklace to her and both have hope for the future.
As news reaches the Rebecchi household, Nell is quick to realise that this means Melanie didn’t murder Krista and asks if this means Mel will be released from jail. Nell thinks that they should let Melanie know as soon as possible that the situation has changed, but Toadie isn’t confident that they should get involved.
Jane and Susan take it upon themselves to visit Melanie in the prison and break the news to her, the realisation that there is a chance she will be released excites Melanie. In true Mel fashion, she shows concern for Krista, wanting to know how she is. Susan is surprised at Mel’s compassion, but Melanie believes that deep down Krista is a good person.
Following the visit, Susan speaks with Toadie and Melanie asking them to reconsider allowing Nell to visit Melanie. They eventually agree, with Susan acting as chaperone. Melanie and Nell are overjoyed to see each other and Mel reassures Nell that she never stopped loving her and Hugo.
At No.32, Haz and Holly are decompressing after a dramatic day, elated in having helped capture Eden and reuniting Reece and Krista. The celebrations include plenty of drinks, with the Champagne flowing and Holly insisting on rounds of shots. The party continues until Holly receives a text from Krista. Still saved in her phone under her pseudonym of Kelly Miller, it stops Holly in her tracks. The stress and trauma of the past couple of days suddenly hits her, memories of the time she spent with Krista and Eden come flooding back, the realisation that what Eden did to Krista, he could have done to her and she breaks down in tears.
Haz comforts her and the comforting embrace quickly turns to a passionate kiss. As the pair start exploring each other’s bodies a knowing look between them takes things to the next level and Haz carries Holly off to the bedroom.
What will happen when Mackenzie finds out that her friend slept with the man she likes? Will Holly find out about Mackenzie’s secret desire for Haz? New episodes of Neighbours drop at 7am Monday-Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
