Jane and Terese’s friendship was damaged when Terese was revealed as the secret developer buying Erinsborough High to turn it into a Retirement Experience. For weeks, Terese has been steadfast that she was doing the right thing, but events of the past week have made her reconsider.

Seeing the passion from the community and former teachers at the protest made her realise that the school was more than just bricks and mortar and she saw her own emotional connection to the school, a place where her own children and own husband went. Following the accident which saw Melanie fight for her life, she saw the human cost had been too high. Ruining her friendship with Jane, straining her relationship with Susan, risking Melanie’s life… has Terese been blind in seeing the fallout from her desire to run a business?

After lots of thought, Terese goes to visit Jane at home, but has the door slammed in her face. Jane is unwilling to talk any further about the issue that has caused immense amounts of distress. refusing to be ignored, Terese goes and grabs a camping chair, setting up camp on the street in front of Jane’s house. She is prepared to wait as long as it takes to have the conversation she wants.

Eventually, Jane is worn down and goes to see Terese to see what find out what she is so adamant to talk about.

“I’ve think I know a way to save Erinsborough High.”

Terese suggests that the school and her Retirement Experience share the school site. The school could downsize and Terese could then redevelop part of the site. Suggesting that having young people and a retirement community existing side-by-side could be a wonderful thing for the community Terese manages to convince jane that there is some appeal to the plan.

Jane is concerned that the education department won’t go for the plan, but Terese believes that if they work together, they can make it happen.

“Can you see a more formidable team than us?”

Terese believes that if the two combine the passion that they both have, they will be able to make it happen. The compromise on the plans would also make Susan, who has long been stuck in the middle of the argument, another person who could help fight their cause.

Has this ceasefire exposed a possible end to the battle? WIll Jane and Terese be able to put the weeks of fighting behind them to work together? Will Erinsborough High be saved?

The story continues next week with new episodes landing at 7am Monday-Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
