Neighbours star Matty Wilson has called for one of Australia’s most famous (or infamous) Olympians to make a cameo on the show.

In an “Ask Me Anything” on Instagram, one fan asked Wilson, who plays Aaron Brennan in the show, “Is there any celeb you wish would cameo in Neighbours?”

Wilson replied sharing a picture of of one of Australia’s most talked-about Olympians, Rachael “Raygun” Gunn, with the caption “I’d be down for it”.

Gunn, of course, shot to fame in the Paris 2024 games, representing Australia in Breaking, better known as break dance. She was eliminated in a first-round round-robin after being awarded zero points by judges for her routine which included hops designed to mimic a kangaroo.

The routine quickly went viral and has been widely shared on apps such as TikTok where many questioned if her appearance in the games was, in fact, a spoof.

Indeed, Rachael has been dancing since childhood and took up break dance over ten years ago, she won her place in the Olympic Games after topping the Australian Bgirl rankings in 2023.

If Rachael was to appear, she wouldn’t be the first sportsperson to turn up in Erinsborough. AFL legend Warwick Capper was the first to appear back in 1986 with many others appearing in the show over the years, including Australian cricketing legend Shane Warne.

Could Raygun turn up in Erinsborough trying to tempt Dr, Karl away from Susan with her sick moves, or maybe Terese could organise a breakdance class for the residents of Eirini Rising. With Aaron’s experience as a ‘dancer’, maybe he could help her out!

In Erinsborough, anything is possible.
