Neighbours has announced that Nathan Borg will be returning to the show in the role of School Teacher, Curtis Perkins.
Announcing his return on Neighbours’ official social media channels he said:
“I’m very excited to announce that Curtis Perkins is back as a recurring supporting character. I’m very excited for everyone to see what’s been happening on Ramsay Street. Lots of drama. See you soon!”
Curtis’ status as a recurring supporting character means that he will not be part of the regular cast, but as he did during his previous tenure in 2021 and 2022, will pop in and out of the dramas in Erinsborough.
Revealed as the nephew of Vera Punt, during his previous stint on the show Curtis dated Jesse Porter, played by Cameron Robbie and also helped Shannon Laing with her hearing loss, encouraging her to get a hearing aid. Curtis was Neighbours’ first deaf character and both Curtis and Nathan wear a cochlear implant. Nathan has long been a campaigner for visibility and accessibility for the deaf and hard of hearing community and in 2021 translated the show’s iconic opening titles into Auslan.
In an exclusive conversation with RamsayStreetUK, Nathan Borg confirmed that Curtis will be returning to our screens on Thursday, October 12th as part of the current storyline where Erinsborough High is at risk of closure.
