It’s the news that a lot of Neighbours fans have been waiting for – Jodi Gordon is set to reprise her role as Elly Conway alongside on-screen girlfriend Chloe Brennan (April-Rose Pengilly) in new episodes that premiere on Amazon Freevee at the end of the year.
Their relationship proved to be controversial amongst fans, with their reunion in the “final” episode from July last year continuing to divide opinions.
Jodi joined the programme in 2016, taking over the role of school teacher Elly from Kendall Nunn, who played her for a brief spell in the early 2000s. Elly is the niece of long running character Susan Kennedy. April’s character Chloe burst into Erinsborough two years later to join her onscreen brothers at No. 24.
In a joint statement on Instagram, the pair wrote: “We are excited to announce that CHELLY ARE BACK! [We] will both be appearing in the new Neighbours and will be back on set very soon. Thank you all so much for your support. We can’t wait to share Chloe and Elly’s next chapter with you!”
We know that April is only back for an initial six week stint in a guest capacity, so it is presumed that Jodi will join her for the majority of this.
The pair are expected to start filming at the show’s production base in Nunawading, Melbourne, imminently.
