Devastated to find out that her entire savings have disappeared from her bank account, Holly rushes to tell Byron and Mackenzie.
Of course, we know that the missing money has found its way into Haz’s bank account, but his friends are totally unaware of this and Haz attempts to emulate everyone else’s shock at the news. In private though, Haz is riddled with guilt over what has happened.
Desperate to resolve the issue without having to get involved, he gets the $20,000 in cash and puts it in an envelope, but when he tries to deliver it, he is rumbled by Holly and Mackenzie. Haz tries to make an excuse for why he has the cash, but isn’t convincing… Mackenzie’s suspicions are piqued.
Meanwhile, Erinsborough Police’s elite cybercrimes division (ok, it’s Andrew Rodwell) discovers that the recent cybercrimes against Aaron, Jane and Holly all came from the same IP address and were executed through a malware app. Following Andrew’s advice, Mackenzie downloads an anti-virus app and discovers the malware has also been installed on her phone. When Haz tries to downplay the incident in order to cover his own tracks, he becomes increasingly argumentative, leaving Mack with the uneasy feeling that Haz is somehow involved in the cybercrimes.
Haz gets his own shock though when he receives a screen-shot taken from Mackenzie’s email account… in the email Mackenzie states that she will never love Haz the way she loved Hendrix, leaving him deeply hurt.
