Since Reece Sinclair headed back to the USA following the death of her father, her boyfriend Byron Stone has been pining after her. Today, he announced that he had a standby air ticket and was jetting off to the USA indefinitely to be with her.

His housemate, Mackenzie, was suspicious of what was going on. Reece is now the head of a multi-billion dollar organisation and could afford first class travel for Byron, but wasn’t encouraging him to visit. Mack saw that everything was very one-sided with all of the effort coming from Byron. When Mack told Byron what she thought, he got very defensive, defending his relationship with Reece, convinced they were the real deal.

As Byron is packing his case, ready to leave, a package is deliver to the house for him, from Reece. It is a break up letter accompanied by a pendant.

Devastated that Mackenzie was right and his relationship is over, Byron sits alone at home and gets drunk. Mack finds him and tells him he shouldn’t be alone, if he wants to drink, they should go together and drink at The Waterhole. As they walk through the Lassiters Complex, they see Haz and Holly kissing at the Christmas fair. With Byron upset over Reece and Mackenzie upset over haz, an evening of drinking is exactly what the two friends need to drown their sorrows.

A few hours later and quite a few drinks later, Byron and Mackenzie leave The Waterhole, deciding to go out dancing, but as they walk back through the complex, they stumble and fall into each other’s arms. Sharing a special moment together by the lake, they bring their heads together. Are Byron and Mackenzie about to hook up?

The story continues tomorrow with new episodes of Neighbours dropping at 7am Monday-Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
