As Neighbours’ Flashback Week got off to a flying start, not only did the story around Melanie’s departure begin to unravel, but we also got closure on some other characters that appeared in the 2022 finale.

The biggest reveal of all was who the father of Amy Greenwood’s baby was. In early 2022 Amy was desperate to have another child, initially thinking that ex-lover Ned Willis would be the perfect father before confusing her feelings for her long-time friend, Toadie. She declared her love and her desire to have a child with him shortly before he married Melanie.

In the show’s 2022 finale we saw Amy hint that she might be pregnant and after we saw scenes of her in Queensland with Joel Samuels, fans predicted that he was going to father Amy’s baby.

In today’s episode we flashed back to the night of Toadie and Melanie’s wedding where Amy revealed that it was in fact Joel’s former House of Trouser buddy Lance Wilkinson who was the father of Amy’s baby, when Amy and Lance showed up at the wedding after-party in The Waterhole.

They weren’t the only familiar faces to show up in those flashback scenes, with Chloe Brennan and Elly Conway looking all loved up, with Chloe announcing that she was moving to Sydney to be with Elly. Bea Nilson, Elly’s sister was also there. She has fallen for a man in Western Australia and now calls that home. David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan were also in attendance, clearly feeling loved up themselves with all the romance in the air. Through the episode we also saw the return of Callum and Yashvi Rebecchi in flashback scenes around Toadie and Melanie’s wedding.

The following morning residents of Ramsay Street came together to clear up the mess from the previous day’s street party, with Leo, Chloe, Elly, Amy and Lance all helping out and we also see Philip Martin staggering out of the Kennedy house, where he spent the night on the sofa. We learn that Philip and Ruth are still happily married.
