In the latest set of Ramsay Street spoilers, we learn that Neighbours’ matriarch, Susan Kennedy, is set to make her return to the show during the week commencing 22nd April.

Susan was last seen on screen at Christmas, when she took her great niece, Aster, to Sydney where she was going to look after her whilst her mother, Elly, went on honeymoon with her new wife, Chloe Brennan.

Subsequently, Susan’s Sydney stay was extended when Susan signed up for a course in Sydney and Karl did recently take a trip north to spend some time with his wife.

The reason for Susan’s prolonged absence from the show was because of actor Jackie Woodburne’s holiday plans. When Neighbours’ shock return was announced, Jackie agreed to reprise her role, but she already had a long globe-trotting holiday planned shortly after filming was due to resume, so writers agreed to create a story explaining Susan’s 4-month departure from the show.

Susan’s absence has been felt across Erinsborough, she has missed so much in the almost-4 months she has been away, including the harrowing death of David Tanaka, Eden Shaw taking Melanie hostage in Susan’s house and, of course, the moment of weakness between Toadie and Melanie resulting in the breakdown of his marriage to Terese.

We are sure that Susan has been kept up to speed with everything that has been going on while she has been away, but, in reading spoilers for the week of her return, it appears she steps right back into the drama, with her having a tempting offer made, but subsequently having to keep a secret. Karl seems to also be the centre of attention, with a persistent rumour following him around like a bad smell.

You can see Susan’s return in episodes that will be streaming week commencing Monday April 22nd on Amazon Freevee with new episodes landing at 7am Monday-Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
