Neighbours have teased a potential reunion for former lovers, Nicolette Stone and Kiri Durant.
When the show ‘ended’ in 2022, we saw Nicolette and Kiri, after turbulent attempts at dating, get their happy ever after. When we returned to Ramsay Street 2 years later, we discovered that Kiri had left Erinsborough for Magnetic Island, with her father, Glen and Nicolette was running a holiday accommodation business in the bush with David and Aaron.
Following Nic’s return to Ramsay Street, we eventually found out the couple had split after Sascha, a pastor at Kiri’s church, came between Nic and Kiri. In true Nicolette style, she flirted with Sasha, sending him adult pictures of herself, in an attempt to disrupt his marriage and get him to leave Kiri alone.
We discovered that Nicolette admitted to actually having feelings for Sasha (Who is a man, just in case you are a bit behind in the story), something which confused and troubled many fans. After all, we know that Nic has always been a devout card-carrying lesbian (just ask Jane) and many fans felt it was a dangerous representation of sexuality, insinuating you could pick and choose who you were attracted to.
WIth Kiri’s return earlier this month, this storyline was, once again, bought to the fore as Nic tried to clear the air with Kiri. In episodes due to air this week, Nic attempts to explain the Sasha story to Kiri (and the viewers) after Kiri and Sasha reunite at their former church.
In the latest spoilers for episodes due to air in early August, we see a number of images with Nic and Kiri getting close once again and the smell of romance is definitely in the air… but then Nicolette appears to be worrying that history is repeating itself and is finally caught out…. for what, we don’t know!
Nic then goes on to try and salvage her mistake, with an image showing a tense meeting between her and Kiri.
Are the couple able to put the past behind them and make a go of it, or is Nicolette going to sabotage true love once again?
