The residents of Ramsay Street come together following the tragic death of David Tanaka. We see all of the normal Ramsay Street rallies, everyone making casseroles for the residents of No.24 (Every Ramsay Street tragedy is followed by a lot of casserole cooking).
Nicolette busies herself, cleaning and taking care of her daily tasks to distract her from her grief. She has young Isla to look after. She doesn’t understand what is going on and it is heartbreaking when she asks when Daddy is coming home.
Aaron isn’t taking things quite so well. After hearing David’s voice note where he admits he knew he was injured, but sacrificed himself to make sure that Eden got proper care, Aaron is angry. Angry at the choice that David made and running with a very short fuse. When Wendy tries to be supportive, telling Aaron that David died a hero, saving Eden, Aaron snaps back at his Neighbour.
“No, he chose this. David chose to leave us. There is nothing heroic about that.”
He storms out of the house, his friends and family concerned for him in this fragile state.
In beautiful scenes at the Gazebo, Aaron bumps into Mackenzie. She sits with him and listens. She doesn’t trivialise his feelings, but lets him know that she gets his anger, a familiar feeling from everything she went through after losing Hendrix.
Aaron confesses that he doesn’t know how he will cope with life without his husband. He and Mack hold hands and cry together, grieving their lost loves.
At the hospital, Eden is recovering, conscious, but in a bad way. Under police guard, a bitter Krista goes to visit him.
She demands to know how he tracked her down and how he knew about the pregnancy. He refuses to answer, instead, writhing in his own self-pity, feeling like he was the victim in this situation. He says that David should be in big trouble for attacking him.
Krista reveals that David died in the fall and blames him, calling him a murder, but Eden still insists that he is the victim.
Later, Andrew goes to the hospital to interview Eden. He continues to insist that he is the victim, that he only went to the house to talk with Krista and that it was Leo who attacked him. When Andrew asks him how he knew where Krista was, Eden claims that he followed her from Lassiters and then overheard Leo and Krista talking about the baby.
When Andrew tells Krista this, she is confused. She says that the only time she discussed her pregnancy was when they were inside the house, never out in the bush. Something doesn’t add up.
Eden gets one final visitor at the hospital. Paul Robinson.
The pair have a complex history, going back to to the night when Melanie thought she had killed Krista at Lassiters’ rooftop pool.
Eden blames David for what happened, saying if he hadn’t have got involved, he would still be alive. He asks for Paul’s help, but Paul doesn’t want to hear it.
“You don’t get to bargain. What you’re going to do, you’re going to shut your mouth and keep it shut if you have any sense of self-preservation whatsoever. Do you understand this? You’ve made an enemy, one who will never, ever give up. So whether you’re in jail or out, I’m there. You are done.”
Why is Paul asking Eden to stay quiet? The pair have made a deal over a secret before and it seems that there are even more secrets between them.
Paul’s visit clearly shakes Eden up, word comes that he has managed to slip away from the guard and escape his hospital room and the police begin a manhunt.
They won’t have far to look, Eden turns up at the Kennedy house, demanding that Melanie helps him, threatening her with a knife.
What is Paul and Eden’s secret? Can Melanie escape Eden’s grasp?
