Reece Sinclair’s lengthy search for her sister Krista came to an end this week. Initially, she believed that Krista had been murdered by Melanie on the rooftop of Lassiters, but Krista was later discovered, being kept in Eden Shaw’s basement. A little worse for wear, Krista was admitted to hospital where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and is also suffering from the effects of drug withdrawal.
Delighted to be reunited with her missing sister, Reece has been trying to contact her father Conrad to let him know the good news, but neither Conrad or his right-hand-woman, Tess, has been contactable.
Finally Reece gets a call from Tess and informs her that Conrad has suffered a massive stroke, happening before Conrad got word that Krista had been found. Reece tells Byron and Krista that she is immediately heading back to the USA to see her father. Krista wants to join her but she is not well enough to travel.
Byron offers to travel with Reece, but she asks him to stay in Erinsborough to look after Krista. With her father incapacitated and Reece having Power or Attorney, she flips into pure business mode and Byron can feel a change in her demeanour.
She encounters Paul Robinson. When he offers his thoughts to Reece, informing her that he lost his own father at a young age, she refuses to accept his sympathy, hoping that he ends up in jail for what he did to Krista.
She reminisces about her time in Erinsborough and relationship with Byron, remembering that Tess told her that once Krista was found, the relationship with Byron would have to end. Byron planned to take Reece to the airport, but she booked a car and driver behind his back, telling him she doesn’t like airport farewells. As Chloe bids her goodbye, Reece admits that she doesn’t know when she will be back. As her car arrives, Reece tells Byron she loves him, he says he will see her soon, but Reece doesn’t respond. As Reece leaves Melbourne, you can’t help but think that she isn’t planning on returning.
