Since David’s death, tensions have been high in Erinsborough between Toadie, his former wife and his current wife.
Terese is the only person in Erinsborough (Aside from Chelsea) who jumped to Paul’s defense followed the revelations around his involvement in David’s death and she has been a regular shoulder for him to cry on. When Terese chose to hide her meetings with Paul, it was unsurprising that Toadie became concerned when he found out that Terese had lied to him.
Toadie himself has made some questionable decisions, risking his life to rescue Melanie when she was being held hostage by Eden and spending the night with her at The Kennedy house when she was too scared to be alone. Melanie’s recent admission that she was still in love with Toadie and wanted him back made the situation even more tense.
Terese continues to spend more and more time with Paul causing Toadie to feel shut out. Desperate to vent, he seeks out Melanie and shares his concerns that Terese is seemingly more worried about Paul than discussing the issues in their own marriage.
Melanie moves closer to soothe Toadie and the former lovers share a loaded exchange. Spooked by the moment, Toadie takes off before they can cross a line.
