When we first saw Eden Shaw as “Ed”, he was a good egg who was interested in Mackenzie and we were excited to see her move on in the dating world after the death of her husband, Hendrix. That joy was short lived as he was exposed as Holly’s abusive ex-boyfriend Eden and once that secret was out, he stole money from the Vineyard as well as stealing phones and wallets from Mackenzie and her friends before taking off.

As part of Neighbours’ Tell-All Flashback Week we found out that Eden was even bigger trouble than we first thought. He used coercive control on Holly before cheating on her with their new friend Kelly – who we now know to really be Krista Sinclair – sleeping together whilst Holly was out working to fund their travels. Involved with drugs, he encouraged Krista to extort money from Melanie Pearson. When he found Krista’s lifeless body on the rooftop at Lassiters, he took to opportunity to blackmail Paul Robinson for $500,000 to ensure the story never came out, Eden having moved Krista’s body.

Eden was pivotal to the events that caused Melanie to run away, abandoning Toadie and her new step-children. Covering up the death of Krista and the subsequent blackmail also made Paul have an uncharacteristic crisis of conscience and leave Terese at the altar, to stop her from getting involved in the drama. As Lucinda Cowden, who plays Melanie, said to us, he is a bad, bad man.

As the police search for Eden following the revelation that he was involved in Krista’s disappearance, Holly decides to take things into her own hands. Holly remembered that Eden would sometimes find empty houses to squat in by looking at executor’s auctions, houses where the owners had died and the homes were being sold to pay out the will.

Finding a list of homes online that Eden could use to find somewhere to live, Holly went off with Haz and Byron, Reece and Mackenzie teamed up, splitting the list to see if they could find traces of Eden.

At the very final house on the list, Holly see’s Eden’s van parked on the drive. While Haz calls the Police, Holly goes in search, seeing Eden through a window. As he tries to escape, his way is blocked by Haz’s car and the Police arrive in time to make an arrest.

When Holly later sees Krista’s favourite cardigan in the back of Eden’s van, she goes searching the house for more clues, heading into the basement, she makes a shocking discovery. A barely-conscious Krista surrounded by rubbish and drug paraphernalia.

Krista Sinclair is alive.

What does this mean for Melanie now that we know she didn’t murder Krista?
