After yesterday’s ultimatum where David told Aaron he had to choose between a life in Erinsborough and a life as a married couple, it was a surprise to see the former doctor and his husband return today.
Krista, released from hospital, is checked into Lassiters and trying to deal with the effects of the drugs leaving her system with just support from Byron. The withdrawals cause Krista to take a turn for the worse and she refuses to let anyone into her room. Byron realises he is out of his depth with the help that Krista needs he confides in Leo who turns to his twin brother for assistance.
Appealing to his caring nature, he convinces David to come and help Krista. She lets him in and David uses his skills as a doctor to get Krista back on track, talking through her medication and encouraging her to stay hydrated to help with her recovery. A world away from his isolated life in the country, David’s caring instincts, helping someone in need, bring him a joy he hasn’t felt in a long while.
David leaves Krista alone so he can speak with his friend who is an addiction specialist to look at what the next step should be. While David is away, Holly arrives to comfort her friend, saddened by the news that Conrad Sinclair, Krista’s father, had died. Holly is totally unaware that Krista had no idea of her dad’s passing. Holly realises she has put her foot in it and Krista does not take the news well.
When David returns to the hotel he finds her room empty. Krista has disappeared.
