Sharon Davies returned to Erinsborough in today’s episode with what appeared to be good news for Nell in her search for her former stepmother, Melanie. We first saw Sharon last week and Nell thought that she may hold the key to Melanie’s whereabouts, being one of her oldest and closest friends.

It soon emerged that Sharon was equally as concerned for Mel, discovering that she had moved away and changed her phone number without telling anyone.

Today, Sharon breaks the good news that she has finally heard from Melanie and it was all a misunderstanding. melanie had explained that she had seen an offer on a new apartment so upped and moved without notice and her mobile phone provider had messed things up, causing her to be disconnected. It all seemed suspiciously convenient but it was enough to convince young Nell that all was well and good and gave her hope that a reunion could happen.

“I told you we didn’t need to worry, right?” Asks Shazza. But Nell’s mind is already working overtime.

She manages to convince Sharon to share Melanie’s address, saying she wants to send her a belated birthday card, but Nell has more on her mind.

At school, Nell embroils JJ Varga-Murphy in her plan, getting his help so she can skip classes and continue with the search for Melanie. She explains that while Melanie supposedly left because she couldn’t be a step mum to Nell and Hugo. the information Sharon has shared about Melanie keeping tabs on them through social media didn’t make sense. Sharon said that Melanie talked about how much she loved her stepchildren and something didn’t add up.

Nell makes a lie up that she has a therapy session and heads off in the search for Mel. Arriving at the address Sharon gave her, she finds a house with rubbish piled up on the front lawn. As she knocks the door, it swings open, allowing Nell to walk in to an eerily-empty room, just a few basic pieces of furniture, the home doesn’t look particularly lived in.

As she wanders from room to room, Nell finally finds someone. But it isn’t Melanie. The man is unknown to Nell but we know him as Eden Shaw, Holly’s ex who is on the run from the Police. Eden panics and bolts for the door, knocking Nell to the floor as he flees. Nell lies motionless, alone in the house.

Why is Eden in the house that is supposed to be where Melanie lives? Will Nell be OK? Tomorrow’s episode is the final one before the epic Tell-All Flashback week, and we will see beginning of the revelations, connections, lies exposed and familiar faces returning.
