Wendy Rodwell has come face to face with racism whilst celebrating a huge success at university.

In Tuesday’s episode (July 30th), Wendy learned that she had been accepted into a mentorship program, which would give her additional support through her time at university.

Giddy with excitement at her success, Wendy called her husband Andrew who came to meet her at the uni to share the moment with her. Celebrations were cut short though when another student, Heidi Runnals (Whitney Duff) confronted Wendy and claimed that the mentorship was just a diversity PR stunt and the only reason that Wendy won was to make the university look good.

When Cara Varga-Murphy called out Heidi’s racist comments, she just walked away, leaving Wendy shocked.

Wendy tried to make excuses for Heidi but was clearly affected by the comments.

In the story previews at the end of the episode, we see Wendy confide in Andrew that she believes Heidi’s accusations and thinks she didn’t deserve to get the mentorship.

Wendy has has a challenging time fitting in at university, will the mentorship and Heidi’s accusations make things even worse for her?
