Since leaving Werribee, the Varga-Marphy family have been watching over their shoulders, fearful of retaliation from Cara’s previous employers, the Linwell Brothers. This week it was revealed that she had called out the brothers for unsafe work practices and was being called as a witness at a WorkSafe tribunal.
Recently, not only has Cara’s work at the Lassiters complex been sabotaged, causing a ceiling fan to crash to the ground at The Waterhole, but a brick was thrown through the Varga-Murphy’s car window. We have also seen a suspicious car sitting on Ramsay Street, watching the family’s new house. Knowing the way that the Linwell brothers work, Cara is convinced that they are coming after her, but she is confused how they found her in Erinsborough.
Little do they know that Wendy Rodwell bought them to their door. Suspicious of her new Neighbours, Wendy did a bit of digging into Cara’s past after seeing a gap on her CV, contacting the Linwell Brothers to get information on her.
After overhearing Cara talking to Andrew Rodwell, Wendy asked her husband what was happening with the family, suddenly realising that she had inadvertently gave away the family’s new location putting them at risk. Full of guilt, Wendy is now aware she may have bought trouble to Ramsay Street.
Remi Varga-Murphy is excited when they receive their first mail to their new home, but the elation doesn’t last long when a mysterious white powder falls out of the envelope. Knowing the risks, Remi orders Cara and the kids out of the house immediately. During the teaser for next week’s episodes, we see Cara out on Ramsay Street and hear the voice of Remi, reporting to the emergency services that she has been the victim of a potential Anthrax attack. Wendy realises that she is to blame for putting the family at risk.
