After weeks of tension between them and a few stolen moments, we finally saw Toadie and Melanie reignite their flame last Thursday, stealing a passionate kiss in the garden of Karl and Susan’s house.

Wracked with guilt over betraying Terese, Toadie completely avoids Melanie’s attempts to talk to him about what happened.

Melanie tells Holly that she had a breakthrough with Toadie. Holly warns her that this is not a good situation and that she is reading into something that isn’t there.

Mel goes ahead and submits a last-minute entry to the Longest Lie-In in an attempt to stay close to Toadie… but, of course, he will be there with Terese.

At the Lie-in, Toadie continues to ignore Melanie’s pleas to discuss what has happened and the situation becomes even more tense when Melanie’s bed is moved right next to his. How will Toadie cope, stuck between his wife and his ex-wife?

Riddled with guilt, he overcompensates and gives Terese even more attention than he normally would, Mel looks on with the painful secret of what happened the day before.

It gets to the point where Mel can’t take it anymore, she leaves her bed and quits the competition. Holly reminds Mel of her previous warning to stay away from Toadie and that nothing will happen between the two of them. A devastated Mel admits to Holly that something has already happened…

Elsewhere at the competition, love is in full bloom. Cara and Remi start a friendly rivalry with Haz and Mackenzie and Byron begins to flirt with Sadie. Vera Punt turns up as a last-minute solo entry and is her normal overbearing self, wearing on the patience of the staff and fellow competitors until Holly manages to orchestrate her early exit from the contest.

Another unexpected entry is Billie, Haz’s former girlfriend, who tries to sabotage Haz and Mackenzie’s chances of winning.

Aaron purposely avoids the complex during the event, but when he sees on social media how successful it has been and being reminded of David’s involvement, he decides to head down to Lassiters and break the silence with Nicolette. The pair bond over Isla and reminisce about David, hopefully the beginning of a new chapter in their relationship.

The winners are announced and the event is hailed as a huge success, at least from the standpoint of what it has done for Lassiters. Even Paul admits that Krista did an amazing job, much to the disgust of Chelsea.

So, The Longest Lie-In was a huge success for Krista and for Lassiters and the winners have bagged themselves an all-expenses trip to New York, but there are also some huge losers from the event as well.

This drama all plays out during the episodes scheduled to air on Monday March 11th and Tuesday March 12th, 2024. Episodes drop at 7am Monday-Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
