An Erinsborough favourite announces they plan to leave town as Jane and Vic begin to plan for their future together.
After Jane planted a kiss on Vic after a romantic dinner, their reunion started at breakneck speed. Vic broke news to Melanie that he was giving it another go with Jane and next week, we see Vic take Jane to Gippsland to see the pub he is planning to buy and potentially be their new home.
When they return to Erinsborough, Jane is surprised that Melanie knows all about Vic’s plans for the pub. Backed into a corner, Melanie confesses to Jane that she matched with Vic on a dating app and they had been seeing each other.
Seeing another man she has feelings for move on so soon after going through a similar thing with Toadie, Melanie decides that she needs to move on and leave Erinsborough for pastures new.
Melanie tells Jane that she didn’t tell her about her spark with Vic out of respect for her friend… but then reveals she is leaving Erinsborough so doesn’t have to worry about any awkwardness.
Jane talks with Vic, revealing that she knows all about how he matched with Melanie online and asks him to make sure he doesn’t have any feelings for Mel.
Byron questions Jane about why she is getting back with Vic. During the conversation, Jane mistakenly calls Vic, Mike, and Byron points out that Jane may have a few issues of her own to sort out before jumping back into a relationship.
Jane visits Melanie and tells her that if she is really interested in pursing a future with Vic, she should go for it.
Melanie is insistent that she is leaving town, but is shaken by Jane words, opening the door for a chance with Vic.
