Each year the Casting Guild of Australia come together to identify extraordinary actors that they believe have the potential to break out on the world stage. The names announced for 2023 include two faces familiar to Neighbours viewers.

Ben Turland, who played Hendrix Greyson from 2019-2022 is being acknowledged by the Guild. Neighbours fans applauded his performance as the character dealt with an organ transplant and eventually his tragic death. Following Neighbours, Ben took a leading role in the mini-series Riptide, which was a UK/Australia co-production. Riptide can currently be streamed on My5.

The second face that Neighbours fans will recognise is currently at the centre of the unmissable drama on the show. Costa D’Angelo has been seen on screen recently in the role of Eden Shaw, the ex-boyfriend of Holly Hoyland and mysteriously involved in the circumstances in the show’s much anticipated Tell-All Flashback Week. Costa can also be seen in the series Crazy Fun Park, which can be streamed on BBC iPlayer, as well as Wog Boys Forever.

Previous Neighbours actors that have been honoured in these awards include Georgie Stone (Mackenzie Hargreaves) in 2021, Joe Klocek (Byron Stone 1.0) and Mavournee Hazel (Piper WIllis) in 2019, Sara West (Cara Varga-Murphy) in 2017 and Zahra Newman (Audrey Hamilton) in 2015.

This year’s ceremony will take place on November 24th in Sydney.
