Teenage dirtbag Slade Westall has definitely made an impression in Erinsborough recently. Responsible for catfishing and then attacking Melanie Pearson, he and his gang of friends have also been trouble-causing around Lassiters, being thrown out of the Coffee Shop for anti-social behaviour and also spraying graffiti across the complex and also defacing the Drinks Diva van.
JJ Varga-Murphy had originally confronted Slade when he was caught vandalising some trees, he then scared them off when he saw the same group spray-painting the van. JJ later gave a statement to the police about Slade, meaning that charges can be pressed and was hailed a hero. His mother, Cara, was a little less celebratory, knowing how thugs like Slade can take revenge.
JJ is worried about what Slade may do, but is adamant that he will show a brave face, especially to his brother, Dex. When Slade shows up at the school, JJ realises that Slade’s threats are real. Not wanting to look weak to Dex, JJ stands up to Slade, only to find himself at the receiving end of a heavy punch. JJ pleads with Dex not to let anyone know about Slade’s attack.
Wanting to protect himself, JJ later steals a chef’s knife from the Coffee Shop. An impulsive and stupid decision. When Cara passes by the school to check in on JJ, he scrambles to hide the knife, stashing it behind a locker.
During a visit from the Education Department, inspecting the progress of Terese’s redevelopment at the school, Curtis Perkins finds the knife stashed away and puts the school on lockdown.
Dex assumes that the knife is Slade’s but the Education Department turn on an unsuspecting Terese, hoping the construction equipment has been securely stashed, or risk more serious security breaches.
Can JJ hide his connection to the hidden knife? Is the teen safe from further threats from Slade?
