A new powerhouse is about to arrive on Ramsay Street in the form of Yasmine Shields.

Yasmine, or Yas as her friends (and likely enemies) call her, arrives in Erinsborough later this month and is set to cause some unmissable drama for the residents of Ramsay Street. Little is known about the character except that she is a glamourous and successful business woman in pursuit of an exciting new opportunity”.

Shields is played by US actress and reality television star, Chrisell Stause. Chrishell is best known to millions of fans around the world as being part of the Selling Sunset cast, a reality show set around a group of high-end realtors in Los Angeles.

We may now associate her with multi-million dollar houses, but Chrishell has been an actor for almost 20 years, beginning her career in another daytime soap. Stause portrayed the role of Amanda Dillon on the US soap ‘All My Children” from 2005 until the series ended in 2011. This isn’t her only dip into the soap world, joining rival soap ‘Days of our Lives’ as Jordan Ridgeway in 2013, a role which saw her nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 2020. Not being able to stay away from soapland, Stause also played the recurring character of Bethany Bryant in “The Young and The Restless” in 2016.

Internationally she is best known for her appearance on Selling Sunset, which led to her taking part in the US version of Dancing with the Stars in 2020, being eliminated 7th in the show. She will be on screen in another reality competition series next year when she participates in the US version of the hit series ‘The Traitors’.

Stause’s personal life has often made the headlines too, being engaged to Broadway and Glee star Matthew Morrison from 2006-2007. She later married Justin Hartley, best known for playing the role of Kevin Pearson on the hit series ‘This is Us’, but they divorced after just 2 years.

In 2022 Stause married Australian musician Georgia Flipo, better known as G Flip. Native to the state of Victoria, Flipo studied for a Bachelor of Music at Box Hill Institute, just a few miles from the Nunawading Studios where Neighbours is filmed.

G Flip joined Stause in Melbourne and it has been confirmed they will be making a cameo appearance as themselves whilst Yas is in the show.

So… why is Yas in Erinsborough. We haven’t had great history with American business women, with Montana Marcel arriving in 2022 to fleece the residents of Erinsborough… and let’s not forget Reece Sinclair who was secretly in town to track down her missing sister, Krista. More recently Tess Carmichael, an employee of Reece’s, was in Erinsborough, embezzling millions of dollars from SinCast before being responsible for the kidnapping of Toadie and Melanie as part of the epic ‘Death in the Outback’ week.

Is Yas connected to any of these previous characters or maybe even Heath Royce, who died at the hands (or mouth) or a very hungry crocodile during Outback week?

In images from Yas’s first week on the show we see her connecting with Holly Hoyland who was a major part of the Death in the Outback week and Heath’s former lover. We also see Nicolette Stone looking quite smitten with this attractive new arrival… is there love on the cards?

Yas arrives in Erinsborough on November 28th and we look forward to finding out exactly why she is in town.

You can catch up with all the latest drama from Down Under with episodes of Neighbours streaming from 7am, Monday-Thursday, on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
