Neighbours has confirmed that Majella Davis will be joining the regular cast of Neighbours in her role of Krista Sinclair.

We first saw Krista as part of the Flashback week episode, learning that she was known to Melanie from her time living in the UK and had mixed Mel up in a drug deal that went wrong.

Back in Australia, she extorted money from Melanie and after becoming involved with Eden Shaw, got back into drugs and began threatening Melanie and her new family, leading to Melanie getting physical with Krista and thinking she had murdered her.

In yesterday’s (November 21st) dramatic episode we saw that Krista, who was presumed dead, had been controlled by Eden and knew nothing of her “murder”, but was found in a drug-addled state in the basement of a squat.

On the official Neighbours social media, they wrote:
Those bombshells keep coming… Krista is ALIVE! Which is lucky for us, as we get to welcome the fabulous Majella Davis to the cast ❤️

On her own Instagram account (@majella.davis) she wrote of her excitement at joining the cast on a one-year contract:
My alter ego for the next year- Krista Sinclair.
Super grateful to be part of such a wonderful company. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the years. It’s been a long road to my first job, and it’s everything I’ve always dreamt it would be.

She then went on to thank the show and Executive Producer Jason Herbison, sharing a number of images from her time on the show so far, including some behind-the-scenes images and a short video at a party with Candice Leask who plays Wendy Rodwell.

Majella seems to be a hit with her co-stars, commenting on her post:

“We love youuu” – Georgie Stone (Mackenzie)
“Wonderful to have you on the show. You are doing fabulous work” Alan Fletcher (Karl)
“J’adore” Lucinda Cowden (Melanie)
“Cannot wait for the DRAMA!” Sara West (Cara)

Neighbours is Majella’s first major role, having appeared in a number of short films over the last couple of years, but fans seem to really have taken to her and the character of Krista, even though she was initially painted as a baddie. As Krista recovers from drug abuse and looks to redeem herself, her former housekeeper and mother figure, Melanie, returns to the show, will Mel be able to put aside the heartache and anguish that Krista caused to take her under her wing again?

A number of fans had predicted that Krista would be found alive and well and would be joining the main cast. Since the show returned on Amazon, the closing credits have been listed differently, with the main cast first, followed by recurring characters and child actors and then finally the guest characters. During flashback week, whilst Eden Shaw was listed with the guest characters, Krista was listed amongst the regulars, giving away what was to come.

With a connection to Melanie and Holly, it should be easy for Krista to put down roots in Erinsborough and I am sure we are set for a year of unmissable drama. How will Paul feel, having a member of the Sinclair family breathing down his neck?

Neighbours continues with new episodes dropping at 7am Monday-Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
