When we saw a flashback showing Paul telling Eden about Krista’s baby and also leading him to the mountain retreat where Krista was staying with Leo, we all knew it was only a matter of time before the truth would come out and everyone would know that Paul had some responsibility in the events that lead up to the death of David.

What people didn’t expect is that it would be Sadie Rodwell that would be the one to bring Paul’s world crashing down, which is exactly what she did at David’s wake.

Uncharacteristically, faced with Sadie’s allegations, Paul confessed. Telling his friends and family about his conversation with Eden.

Paul hoped that Eden coming back on the scene would either scare Krista away or make her relapse and lose her sobriety. He could never have imagined that the conversation would lead to the death of his estranged son.

Everyone is stunned by the revelations and leave Paul alone at The Waterhole to wallow in sadness and self-pity.

Realising that Paul manipulated their opinions of Krista, both Aaron and Leo apologise for the way they have treated her in the last couple of weeks, blaming her for David’s death.

When Paul later goes to see Aaron and Leo to beg for forgiveness, they can’t stand to listen to his pleas and Aaron throws him out of the house.

Desperate for an ally, Paul speak with Lucy, confessing everything to her but even his devoted little sister struggles with his actions.

When news of the revelations reach Chelsea Murphy, she rushes to Paul, seeing it as a chance to get close to him, but he rejects her once again. Desperate to stay in Paul’s orbit, she attempts to befriend Lucy, hoping that she can help her reconnect with the target of her affections.

In the Rebecchi household, there is a difference of opinion about the day’s events. Toadie sees Paul’s actions as unforgiveable, Terese is less judgmental. Having lost a child herself, she believes that the torment that Paul is inflicting on himself will be more painful than anything anyone can do or say to him. Unable to agree on the situation, Toadie and Terese argue. Are Paul-shaped cracks starting to appear in their marriage?

Toadie leaves the house and decides to go to work, leaving Terese alone. He bumps into Melanie and she shares his opinions on Paul’s actions, in total contrast to the argument he just had with his wife.

When Leo says that he and Abigail are moving out of the Penthouse, a devastated Paul messages Terese, asking to see her. Terese begs Leo to stand by Paul in his time of need, but Leo doesn’t care. His father is no longer a priority to him.

Terese heads to the complex and sees her husband in his office working late, but instead of going in to see him to clear the air after their earlier argument, she heads to the Penthouse to see Paul.

Is this the beginning of the end for Toad-rage? Will Paul use his grief to drag Terese back? Will Toadie see what could be happening around him? New episodes of Neighbours are available from 7am, Monday to Thursday on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video.
