THIS ARTICLE FEATURES THE UNMISSABLE DRAMA FEATURED IN THE NEIGHBOURS EPISODE THAT AIRED ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH 2024

Since Neighbours returned, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions for Toadie and Terese. Marrying in the first episode back, it was quickly established that Paul Robinson still held a light for his ex-wife, using his power, money and influence to better her. At first, Terese shunned the attention from him, but in more recent times she has grown closer to Paul, supporting him after David’s death and being one of the few people to defend him after the revelations that he gave Eden information that allowed him to track Krista down, leading to the tragic events at the holiday home.

Toadie grappled with his feelings, seeing Paul trying to get Terese’s attention, but when Melanie returned, Toadie had confused feelings of his own. At first, angry that Melanie had left, even angrier that she felt she couldn’t confide in him when she was being blackmailed by Eden, but that anger turned around and slowly we saw Toadie reconnect with his ex-wife again.

Last week we saw Toadie risk his life to save Mel, being held hostage by escapee Eden, later, spending the night at the Kennedy house to keep Melanie company. They both confessed that they missed each other, but Toadie said that despite missing Melanie, he was now married to Terese and that is who he loved.

When news of Toadie and Melanie’s heart-to-heart reached Terese, she went on the offensive, confronting Mel and telling her to stay away from Toadie. They were not friends, they were exes, and Terese was his future, not Melanie.

Whilst she is being fiercely protective of Toadie, she isn’t being completely honest to him. After a huge argument this where Toadie told Terese he didn’t understand how she could have sympathy for Paul, Terese chose to make a late-night visit to Paul in his penthouse, rather than trying to clear the air with Toadie. She then lied to her husband about where she had been.

In Thursday’s episode, the cat got let out of the bag when Chelsea Murphy “accidentally” mentioned to Toadie that she had seen Terese leaving the Penthouse late at night.

Furious, Toadie wanted to speak to Karl and get his opinion of the situation. When he arrived at No.28 Ramsay Street though, the only person in the house was Melanie.

Boiling over, Toadie needed to vent and Melanie was the only person available, reluctantly, he fills her in on the situation. Melanie offers her sympathy and holds Toadie’s hand, he notices that she is wearing her wedding ring again.

He asks her why she has put her ring back on, Mel takes the opportunity to open up and be honest about her feelings.

“Our talk yesterday, it was like old times. All morning I’ve wanted to feel connected to you.”

Toadie tries to shut her down and warn her about living in the past. But Melanie continues:

“If Terese is treating you like this, she doesn’t deserve you.”

Toadie again tries to shut her down, saying that now is not the right time to have this discussion.

“When is the right time? We just buried a friend and neighbour. He thought that he had time.

Life is short. And I am not going to die with things unsaid. I still love you and I always will. And I want you back.”

Clearly distressed, Toadie is lost for words. Fighting back tears, he walks out of the house, leaving Melanie alone.

The story continues next week with new episodes landing on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video from 7am, Monday – Thursday.
