THIS ARTICLE REFERENCES THE UNMISSABLE DRAMA THAT OCCURRED DURING THE EPISODE THAT AIRED ON THURSDAY 9th NOVEMBER 2023
In yesterday’s episode (November 8th) we saw Nell ramp up her efforts to find her estranged stepmother, Melanie. With a new address from Sharon, Nell skips school and heads off to find the woman she hasn’t heard from in a year.
Upon arriving at the address, Nell didn’t find Melanie, instead, in an almost-empty house, Eden Shaw was there. He panicked on seeing Nell, running out of the house, knocking Nell over and leaving her motionless on the floor.
Back on Ramsay Street, Toadie becomes concerned when Jane lets it slip that Nell is been missing from class, claiming she had gone to a therapy session. With her phone turned off, Toadie is struggling to find his young daughter.
JJ Varga-Murphy admits that he knows where Nell had gone after she confided in him that she had a new lead on Melanie. Holly and Haz join Toadie, Terese and Andrew Rodwell and they head to the street where Melanie is now supposed to be living to begin a search party.
Arriving at one house, Toadie sees Nell’s schoolbag through a window. Andrew Rodwell breaks into the house, the bag is there along with Nell’s smashed phone. but there is no sign of his daughter and no sign of Melanie. Toadie and Terese rush back to Ramsay Street to see if Nell has made her way home, but there is still no sign.
At the same time, Haz and Hollie, continuing their search, find a dazed and confused Nell sitting on a bench. She explains that Melanie had returned home, finding the injured Nell at her house. Concerned that the man who pushed Nell over would return, they fled, leaving Nell sitting on the bench and Melanie went off to find a phone. Nell explained to Holly that Melanie knew the man, his name was Eden. Holly struggled to understand how her ex-boyfriend, on the run from police, had gotten involved in this… Melanie shows up and a look of concern washes over both of their faces as they realise they both knew Eden Shaw. But why?
Nell is reunited with her father back on Ramsay Street. Toadie and Terese’s joy is short-lived as they realise she is not alone. For the first time since walking out on her husband, Melanie Pearson is back on the street.
Police sirens can be heard in the background, getting closer to Ramsay Street. Melanie tells Holly that she needs to let Andrew know everything about Eden. Toadie looks confused and concerned. What has Eden got to do with this? What has Eden got to do with Melanie?
Melanie is willing to explain, but suggests they head inside.
“I think you might want to sit down to hear what I have to say”.
The unravelling of the last two years of their lives is about to begin.
The epic Neighbours flashback week begins on Monday, November 13th. The 4 episodes next week will allow Melanie to tell her story, what happened, why she left and why her actions affected many of the residents of Ramsay Street… and beyond. The episodes will take us back to events that have happened over the last two years and we will see lots of familiar faces from the past reappear as their involvement in the story is exposed.
