We are still shocked by the revelation that Melanie Pearson is on the run from the British Police after being caught in a drug deal, but today Neighbours’ Tell-All Flashback Week went deeper into the mysteries of the two years since Toadie married Melanie.
After Nell Rebecchi went missing last week, Holly Hoyland and Melanie Pearson realised that they both knew Eden Shaw, but we now know that their connections go even further.
Holly reveals that she arrived in Erinsborough 2 years ago, a few days before Toadie and Melanie’s wedding, with her boyfriend Eden. Initially planning to surprise her family, Holly changes her mind when she spots her mum, Izzy, kissing Shane Ramsay, despite her being in a relationship with Malcolm Kennedy at the time. Holly soon discovers that Izzy and Shane are now together and her relationship with Mal is over. Holly once again feels let down by Izzy and no longer wants to deal with the trail of destruction that she always leaves behind her.
Holly and Eden later meet an enigmatic young woman called Kelly, who we now know to actually be Krista Sinclair. the three of them hit it off and make plans to travel together after ‘Kelly’ explains she can get money from her former housekeeper who lives locally. ‘Kelly’ reveals she comes from a very wealthy, but very dysfunctional family and Holly becomes concerned that Eden is seeing the dollar signs around this young woman.
Despite trying to leave without being discovered, she bumps into her half brother (and her mother’s former lover) Mal in the Lassiters complex. Explaining what she saw and how she needs to get away from Izzy, Mal gives Holly money to help her leave Erinsborough, and helps hide her presence from Karl and Susan before she leaves again with Eden and her new-found friend.
In the present day, Melanie realises that the story is getting out of hand and she picks up the phone to call someone else who was involved in the saga, David Tanaka.
We see David living his new life in the country with Aaron and Nicolette as he explains to his family that Melanie has returned to Erinsborough and is telling everything to Toadie and Terese.
Nicolette looks concerned “We have to go.”
“If we do, there’s no going back.” David realises the enormity of what is happening. “This new life we’ve built, we’ll be putting in all in jeopardy. The reason we all left Erinsborough, it’ll all come out”.
But the three agree, they have no choice. It is time to go back to Ramsay Street and face the music.
What is David’s involvement with Melanie and the situation with Krista? Why did David, Aaron and Nicolette really feel that they had to leave Erinsborough? At this point, Eden and Melanie have never met, so how does Melanie become involved with him? How did all of this escalate to the point where Melani ealso felt she needed to leave her life with Toadie behind?
