Last month Neighbours confirmed that Stephanie McIntosh would be reprising her role of Sky Mangel and we can now confirm when we will see Sky back in Erinsborough.

Sky originally appeared as a toddler from 1989-1991, played by the late Miranda Fryer. The character returned to Ramsay Street in 2003, played by McIntosh. Her original stint saw her stay until 2007 although Sky has regularly popped back to see friends and family over the years, most recently in 2020 for the show’s 35th anniversary episodes where we saw her marry Lana Crawford.

The main reason for Sky visiting is to check in on her grandfather, Harold Bishop, who recently relocated back to Erinsborough himself as one of the first residents in Eirini Rising, Terese Willis’ Retirement Experience. Sky has plenty of other connections to Erinsborough though, Melanie Pearson was Sky’s step-mother when she was married to Joe Mangel and, of course, Jane Harris is Sky’s step-cousin, giving her a connection to Jane, Nicolette, Byron and Vic Stone.

Sky’s return will air in episode 9070 which will air on Wednesday, 3rd July. Images from her return episode see her dropping in at Eirini Rising and in deep discussion with Susan, Karl, Toadie and Terese as well as a Waterhole catch-up with Susan and Jane.

We are sure that there is more to Sky’s visit than just a check-in on Harold. In the teasers for her return episode it simply says “An unexpected visitor arrives at Eirini Rising”, implying that Sky’s visit is unplanned. The teasers for the 4th July episode, the day after Sky returns, states “Jane puts a plan in action to keep a beloved resident home.” Could this be talking about Harold?

Whilst we are sure that she will be delighted to catch up with her grandfather, every new arrival in Erinsborough comes with an ulterior motive, so we will have to wait and see what Sky is up to during her brief return to the show.

New episodes of Neighbours stream on Amazon Freevee and Amazon Prime Video from 7am, Mondays to Thursdays.
