In a new interview Annie Jones has revealed that Jane Harris is the new Principal of Erinsborough High.

Updating us on what we will see Jane doing in the new episodes of Neighbours, Jones says “At the moment Jane is a school teacher, in fact, I stand corrected… She’s actually the school principal of Erinsborough High, which she’s very proud about.”

When we last saw Jane in 2022 she was Assistant Principal at the school and had rekindled her first love with Mike Young. It seems a lot has changed for Jane.

This also means that a lot has changed for Susan Kennedy, who has been the Principal at the school since 2013. Jackie Woodburne, who has played Susan for almost 30 years, is well aware that this is a huge change for her character, “When we left Susan as a school principal, a very responsible job requiring a lot of work. Now we’ve come back, and she’s no longer a school principal. And she’s fighting with what retirement means.

She actually didn’t want to retire. She did it in order to try and recoup some money that Karl had lost on a bad investment, and she feels like it’s the only option open to her. So again, all new stories, all new situations. And we’ll get a lot of good drama and more lovely comedy.”
