For the first time in its 39-year history, Neighbours has been nominated for a coveted Daytime Emmy award in the USA.

The show has been nominated for the “Outstanding Daytime Drama Series” award alongside a number of legendary US daytime soaps including The Bold & The Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and The Young & The Restless.

As the series is an American co-production and shown in the USA on Amazon Freevee the same day as it is released elsewhere in the world, it has become eligible for nomination for the very first time.

The 2024 ceremony is awarding shows based on episodes that aired between January 1st – December 31st 2023, an dera where we saw Neighbours return from the ashes with their 2-year time jump, we saw the wedding of Terese and Toadie and the epic Flashback week, filling viewers in on events that occured whilst teh show was on hiatus. These early episodes also featured American actress Mischa Barton who made her own TV debut in the Emmy Award-winning soap ‘All My Children’.

The award ceremony will air on CBS in the United States on Friday, June 7th at 8pm US Eastern Time.
